About NiEl Bridal Atelier
NiEl Bridal Atelier is a European couture bridal atelier in Birmingham, Alabama, built on decades of experience in garment construction, pattern making, and bridal design at the highest level.
This is not a traditional bridal store.
It is a working atelier where each gown is developed directly with the designer — from first concept to final fitting.
About the Founder
NiEl Bridal Atelier was founded by Mykola Vyshyvanyuk — a European-trained couture designer and master pattern maker with over 30 years of experience in bridal and eveningwear.
His journey began in Lviv, Ukraine, where he received formal training in garment construction. Driven by a pursuit of deeper knowledge, he traveled across Europe before settling in Athens, Greece — where his professional path took shape.
In Athens, Mykola continued his education at the Veloydakis School of Fashion and Design, refining both his technical precision and understanding of European couture standards.
Following his graduation, he joined MAURIZIO S.A., where he worked closely with the founder as a Lead Pattern Maker & Collection Development Specialist.
During this time, he was directly involved in the development of collections — responsible for pattern construction, garment architecture, and the creation of sample pieces.
This experience defined his approach: design begins not with decoration, but with structure.
A Family Atelier
In 2010, Mykola and his wife Olena established their first atelier in Greece — laying the foundation for a family business built on craftsmanship and collaboration.
From the beginning, their roles were distinct yet deeply connected.
Mykola led pattern making, garment construction, and fittings, while Olena specialized in embroidery and intricate handwork — bringing depth, texture, and refinement to each piece.
The name “NiEl” originates from their Greek names — Νικόλας and Ελένη.
Combined, they form ΝιΕλ — a name that represents both partnership and the essence of the atelier.
A New Chapter
In 2022, the family relocated to the United States.
In 2023, NiEl Bridal Atelier was established in Birmingham, Alabama — continuing the same philosophy, now in a new environment.
Today, the atelier reflects a blend of European couture discipline and a deeply personal, client-focused experience.

Olena is the co-founder of NiEl Bridal Atelier and a skilled artisan whose work is deeply woven into the heart of each gown. She plays a vital role in the atelier’s hand embroidery and detailing, contributing hours of meticulous craftsmanship to every piece that requires intricate beadwork, lace application, and fine embellishment.
